Silhouette Nail Art

Silhouette Inspiration: Nail Art  Nail art—it's the popular thing to do these days. Try doing your own nails with a little adhesive vinyl and a nail design from the Silhouette Design Store! Supplies: Adhesive vinyl   Two kinds of nail polish Zig Zag Nail design Instructions: Apply a coat of nail polish to your nails. When your nails are completely dry, open up the Zig Zag Nail design in Silhouette Studio® and fit it onto your page. Load your vinyl into the Silhouette without a cutting mat. Select Silhouette Vinyl in the media menu of the cut settings and adjust your blade.  After your designs are cut, remove the vinyl from the Silhouette and peel away the negative space. Place your vinyl onto each nail and apply the second coating of nail polish. Let the nail polish dry for a bit, but remove the stencil before it is completely dry. Silhouette Inspiration: Heart Tote

Are you thinking what we're thinking? This darling tote is screaming summer! And believe it or not, summer is starting to creep up on us, so you might as well get ready by trying out this project. It's simple, but as you can tell, simply adorable too. Supplies:  ·  Tote ·  9 Hearts design ·  Piece of fabric ·  Sewable fabric interfacing  ·  Iron ·  Thread Instructions:  1.    In Silhouette Studio®, choose one of the hearts from the 9 Hearts design and size it to fit your tote. 2.    Cut a piece of interfacing about one inch bigger than your heart design size. 3.    Place the rough side of the interfacing on the back of your fabric and press firmly with an iron for about two seconds. 4.    Trim your fabric down to the same size as the adhered interfacing. 5.    Remove the liner from the interfacing and place your fabric on a Silhouettecutting mat with the interfacing side down.  6.    Select Fabric in the Silhouette Studio® cut settings and adjust the blade as indicated.  7.    Place your cut out heart design onto your tote and iron it down for about eight seconds.  8.    Sew around the edges of the heart design, leaving about half an inch of fabric free. 9.    Cut the edges of the heart.  Silhouette is available at Allscrapbooksteals.com. Welcome Home Sign

My nephew came home on from a 2 year trip to Hong Kong. We made him a fun welcome home banner to hang in the house. It was super easy and turned out really cute.

1. First, we took white cardstock paper and cut it 6x6, then rounded the corners with a corner rounder punch.

2. We had cut out black letters that fit perfectly in the squares and glued them on with a glue stick.

3. We punched out the top corners with a small hole punch.

4. I cut out a heart on my Silhouette to break up the words. It fit perfectly with the banner. 

5. Then we took Black and White Baker's Twine. I like to tape off the ends, like a shoe lace, I feel that it is easier to thread through the sign. After I have threaded the sign then I  cut off the end with the tape and it is ready to tie off.

The living room isn't the only place in the house to decorate. The computer room can have a style of its own as well! Try prettifying your mouse pad with these trendy "painted" days of the week.  Supplies: ·  Silhouette white smooth heat transfer ·  Days of the Week design ·  Mouse pad ·  Iron ·  Scrap of fabric Instructions:  1.    Measure your mouse pad and draw a basic shape in Silhouette Studio® with the same dimensions. 2.    Open up the Days of the Week design, ungroup, resize, and arrange the words however you’d like within that shape. 3.    Select the words, right click, and flip horizontally so that the words are backwards. 4.    Load the heat transfer shiny side down into your Silhouette, select heat transfer from the cut settings menu, and click cut. 5.    Once it’s cut out, weed out all of the unwanted heat transfer, flip it over on top of the mouse pad, cover with a scrap of fabric, and press with a hot iron. 6.    Carefully remove the plastic, and you’re done!

Snowflake Garland

If you are looking for a unique item to add to your holiday decor. Look no further than Silhouette. I found a really cute Snowflake in their online catalog. Second, I downloaded the snowflake and positioned 4 on a page. I cut out red and white snowflakes using American Crafts Cardstock. I love this cardstock because it is dyed all the way through the cardstock and a nice 80lb weight. Then, I used my sewing machine to sew them together. I love the quick Garlands, they are easy, fun, and they look amazing!!! I am leaving this up through January. Silhouette Machines and supplies are available at Allscrapbooksteals.com. Leaf Garland for Thanksgiving

Looking for last minute Thanksgiving decorations to give you piazza? Well look no further than your Silhouette.  I set up my Silhoutte to Cut 8 leaves. It was easier than I thought it would be. All I had to do was click on the leaf image and move the image to where I wanted it. Once I had the layout and enough leaves (I wanted to fill a 12x12 page), I was ready to go. I picked 6 Fall looking colors of American Craft Cardstock. I used 2 sheets of each color (12 sheets of cardstock total). It took about 20 minutes to cut out the leaves and another 20 to sew on my sewing machine. I just stitched the leaves in at different angles so it looked like falling leaves. Super Easy! I didn't use all the leaves because I had a really long garland (about 20 feet). So I have extra leaves to scatter on my Thanksgiving table. A very low cost decoration.
