Washi tape the perfect accessory!

We love washi tape!!! At Allscrapbooksteals.com there is plenty to choose from. So many patterns, colors, styles, and holiday themed tape. We have shown you how we use washi tape, but we thought that you would like to see an example of how it changes the decor in a snap. We just decorated our lobby to reflect fall this last week. It is always sad to take down washi tape, but look how easy it comes off. This washi tape "colored pencils" from Doodlebug was a customer favorite.

Peels right off and then we crumple it in a ball. (That's the fun part). 

Our shelf still looks good plain, but wait for it...

The leaves make it look so much better. Just unroll washi tape and stick down.

Smooth the washi tape down.

Finishing it off is easy.

We added tape to the bottom of the shelf  too. It is so inexpensive that you can use what you need and still have a ton of tape left over.

Decorating with Washi Tape Tip

One of our favorite things at Allscrapbooksteals.com is our Lobby. We love to decorate the cabinet and put out all the new products on display in our Lobby for the upcoming season.  One of the quickest design tricks that we use is Washi Tape. We can change between Seasons and holidays but it just doesn't stand out until we add Washi tape. It is amazing how fast Washi Tape changes the mood and really makes our decor pop. It is easy and simple to put on. You unroll, stick the washi tape where you want it to go, smooth it out and it stays stuck. Then, when we want to change it out it peels right off. Halloween Lobby and Shelf at Allscrapbooksteals.com

Halloween products are here and available at Allscrapbooksteals.com!!! We were so excited for them that we re-decorated our lobby to show off all the new cool stuff from My Mind's Eye Frightful, Authentique Spirited, Doodlebug Ghouls and Goodies, Simple Stories Frankie and Friends, and American Crafts Haunted Hollow. WE LOVE IT!!! The shelf was so fun and we added some washi tape (trick or treat and the candy washi) from Doodlebug that really makes it pop. The wood blocks are covered in Simple Stories Frankie and Friends. There is also a ton of embellishments to make cards and layouts pop. The framed art from My Mind's Eye Frightful is really fun too. We added washi tape to inexpensive dollar store frames to give the pictures our own unique look.  Just so you know the crow finishes it off nicely. Washie Tape Project

 I hope by now you have all made the Death By Decadence bars and ate too many to move, so you just have to sit there and craft!  Now I have you right where I want you, in creating mode ;)

We always have people asking us what Washi Tape is, how to use it, what to use it for, and why is it such a big hit.  The answer is basically it is more pliable patterned scotch tape.  It is super easy to use on any project and especially helpful for those tiny embellishments you don't want to cut a tiny piece of paper for.  In the case of this project it is helpful so you don't have to cut skinny strips of paper to wrap around these straws. And the skinny strips of paper would probably just frustrate us and make us feel resentful towards the dessert we just ate because we sure aren't feeling skinny ourselves anymore ;).

Wrapping up your Sweets: part 2

The first Idea I want to share I saw on a segment of Good Things Utah last year for Valentine's Day and I just tweeked it a little to make it my own! 

These are Conversation Hearts Ipods! I love them so much, I think they are just the cutest things ever!  You would be the coolest mom on the block if you made these for your kids classmates. All you have to do is choose a pattern paper to wrap around your box, cut a circle and a square to go on them and add a heart in the middle for the button. I used Doodlebug Glitter Sweetheart Brads  Then think of some fun love songs to write on there like Call Me Maybe or Can I be Your Boyfriend. Cut a long piece of our Doodlebug Twine and tape it to some Hersey Kisses for the ear buds.  It did take a bit to put them together but I think the outcome is worth it!



The second idea is a bottle of Crush orange soda, one of my husbands favorites.  I covered it with paper and embellished it.  Then attached a tag that say's "I have a crush on you".  I didn't like the look of the bottle cap since it clashed with the colors so I used Doodle Bug Love Birds and Echo Park Love Story. Washi Tape, in a coordinating color, to cover up the cap.  So simple and so cute!  For both of these ideas I used Doodle Bug I hope you enjoy these ideas and there are more to come!  I Love Valentine's Day!!
