March Giveaway

 
I can't believe it is already March.  This year is just flying by.  I've been busy ordering seeds and planning my garden.  Any day now my trees and shrubs will start coming out of hibernation.  I love how hopeful everything feels this time of year.  If you're feeling lucky this month then be sure to enter our giveaway.  
 
Here are the rules:

1.  This giveaway is only open to residents of the United States and Canada.  We looked into shipping for other countries and it is just too expensive.

2.  Enter by leaving a comment on this post about your favorite thing to plant in the Spring, or your favorite springtime activity.

3.  Receive a second entry if you post about our giveaway on your blog or website.  Please leave the link to your post in the comments section so we can verify your second entry. 

4.  Entries will be accepted until Midnight PST on March 10th.

5.  Winner will be randomly chosen from all eligible entries received by midnight March 10th by random.org

6.  Winner will be announced on March 11th here on the blog.

7.  The winner has 72 hours to contact us with their mailing address or else a new winner will be chosen.

  2. I usually plant tomatoes, but the past couple years I have gotten so many they have taken over the garden (not good since I'm the only one who really eats them) so this year I'm going to focus on cucumbers... Looks like a great giveaway!

  4. Since I don't garden, my favorite springtime activity is being outside again. I'm from FL so I've never had to crave warm weather. I've been living in VA for a year now, and I am craving to wear shorts and flip-flops. I cannot wait to play on playground again with my girl.

  5. I love spring! I love finally being able to open the windows after the winter and seeing the tulips bloom. We are going to plant a vegetable garden for the first time this year, not sure what specificlly we are going to plant.

  15. My favorite springtime activity is blowing bubbles with the kids. There's always a little breeze and when it warms up and the kids are aching to go outside, chasing bubbles around and popping is our thing.

  16. I love to plant my vegetable garden....and of course to watch all of my perenials begin to come up....right now my tulips, crocus, and daffodils are coming on strong. My camilla tree is in full bloom and it is so lovely...I'll be planting some additional drought resistant flowers this spring too...

  17. Well, I don't garden as much - actually my dear husband has taken on that job - and done a darn good job of it! I loved it when he planted pentas one year - they attract butterflies and are so pretty! As for my favorite springtime activity...I'm just ready to walk around in a T-shirt and shorts again. I love wearing jeans, but it's time to get some sun on those gams. ;)

  20. My favorite part of spring is just the rebirth of everything around us. Flowers poking up out of the ground after a long cold (and this year snowy!!) winter and seeing everything start to come back to life....its an amazing thing!!

  26. My favourite activity in spring is to "find spring" with my 4 year old daughter. We walk in the woods and try to find signs of spring. We shoot some pics and then make a simple scrapbook from them!

  28. I love to eat pumpkin or squash blossoms in the spring. You make an egg watch and them cover them with cracker crumbs and fry them in butter. So that's what I like to plant pumpkins or squash.

  29. My favorite thing about spring is the smell. You can smell the earth coming back to life, and the lilacs as they bloom again. You can feel the sun warming your skin and giving our souls a shot of sunshine!! So badly needed after this cold winter.

  31. I'm not a gardener, although I wish I were. I think about doing it, but there is something about putting my hands in the dirt that I can't deal with. Some say it's relaxing, but I can't see it. So, instead I like to walk in nature's gardens. I love going down the local trails and seeing all of the green return to it's full glory and watching all the flower buds bloom and blossom.

    Enough said - I'm going to day dream now. LOL

  39. I love digging up the soil in the garden and preparing to plant it. The smell of the fresh earth after the winter is refreshing. I love to watch the spring unfold with all the new blossoms on the trees and bushes. Tulips and daffodils are my wish starting mid February.

  43. I love gerber daisies, I try to plant some every spring and last year I planted red and white in hopes that I would get to use them for various celebrations centered around my daughters wedding. Gerbers are beautiful yet simple. I'm drawn to them, much like scrapbooking supplies.:)

  44. I don't have a green thumb - so I don't plant a single thing. I am looking forward to just being outside! The kids and I are sick of being in the house so much, we like to go on walks, play at the park, ride bike, pretty muh anything we csn do outside. Not to mention I need some springy pictures to use with all the fun new springy scrap supplies I am been getting!

My husband is the family gardener, and I know spring is coming when he starts our tomato plants indoors from seed...they're EVERYWHERE!! :) I can't get too grumpy about working around them though when I know how much I'll love having all those fresh homegrown tomatoes all summer, and earlier than most people because of him starting them indoors.

  70. The very first thing I plant are Petunias..have to be doubles, tho, cause those are the most fragrant. We usually spend the summers in Montana now and have a big pot of Petunias in our fire pit...we never have fires anyway. Good way to keep someone from accidently stepping into the pit.

  72. I have lots of favorite spring activities but I'd have to say that incubating eggs for new chicks is my favorite. That miracle of new birth contained in that two inch by three inch egg is. . .well miraculous. Another is planting the flower Stocks with its "cinnamony" yummy smell brings back many wonderful memories of fresh cool spring days.

But when the sun is shining, the birds are singing and it actually feels like spring is here, I love to go for walks in nature with my dearest friends. Just don't tell them that... it would spoil my fun whining and complaining about the exercise when they "drag" me out for those walks. Shhh... it will be our little secret.

  126. I love planting my tomatoe plants. And repotting them as they get bigger and bigger. By the time I can put them outside without fear of frost they are usually starting to flower. Our growing season is so short here the plants need all the headstart they can get. :)

  136. Since I've lived in Florida for the past 30 years or so, I don't have to "thaw out" each spring. But, we have had one of the coldest winters on record this year, and I look forward to it warming up a bit in the spring. I love tulips and I look forward to watching all the flowers bloom!!

  142. My favorite thing in the spring is actually planted in the fall - all my bulbs - crocus, daffodil, hyacinth, english bells. . . I love looking at my garden each day to see what is poking its head out new!!!!

  145. We have a creek in our yard, so in Spring it is always interesting to watch the animals and birds and their increased activity. We have lots of animals and birds! And we cannot seem to get enough roses, we always plant new roses and each year we try a few different annuals! I love Spring! and thanks for the giveaway! Happy Spring!

  151. Put out new mulch for the daffodils, hyacinth, crocus, etc. to let them peak their heads out. Seeing signs of pinks, whites and yellows and ready to see them shine. Coldest winter I've every seen. Ready for those spring blossoms. Thanks for the chance to win. Love your blog.

  155. I just love it when spring comes and I can be outside taking photos of all the new things that are blooming and growing. I also take photos of the birds that are flying around courting each other. All that photography leads to me having more things to put in my scrapbooks.

  161. In one more week we will be able to plant because it will be past the date of the latest frost on record here. I love color in my front flower beds, so I will plant white lantana because it is drought tolerant and will grow to bushes 2 feet in diameter, full of blooms all summer. I will also plant red begonias near the front door for a punch of color. This year I am adding pots of blue salvia for a red, white and blue patriotic theme.

  170. Fabulous giveaway!! My favorite thing in the spring is when I can open up the windows and let the fresh air in without freezing. I also love it when the snow is all melted and there is no mud and my kids can go and play outside or at the park, while I take a book and read on a blanket. I can't plant anything more in the ground up here as the deer will just eat it! But I do love the spring time and love to trek off the foothills where I live just to see all the flowers. I have loads of daffodils and dogwood trees that will bloom tho.

  180. I love to plant everything and anything!! geraniums last all summer long and really spread out in my planters. I also like to plant herbs like basil and cilantro for summer cooking - yummy! I love the smell when my husband mows a bit of them "by accident" and the air is infused with the sharp aroma of fresh herbs -
