The New Face of American Scrapbooking Culture

Undeniably, digital technology has greatly shaped American culture and a major part of it that has sustained a huge hit is the fine craft of scrapbooking. This hobby has been practiced by households for generations, yet is now seen experiencing a significant decline especially over the past couple of the decades. Scrapbooking fans vouch for the many benefits it has provided to them in their over-all approach and perspective in life, serving not only as an exercise in creativity, but also as a memory-building workout.

Studies have also found that arts and crafts like scrapbooking have a positive effect on one’s psychology, allowing for stronger concentration and focus, as well as providing stress relief, much like meditation and deep breathing.
Physical shops closing down are unfortunately nothing new, especially following the most recent economic bubble. For scrapbooking enthusiasts, however, there remains to be another, more stable alternative that is in the form of scrapbook stores online.

With less cash-out required for the maintenance of an online scrapbook store, shops can instead focus on stocking up on their supplies, which clients can pick out with a simple click of a button. These items will then be delivered right to the doorstep of the client.

Shopping for scrapbooking materials has never been more convenient, allowing hobbyists to spend more time working on the craft that they love, instead of going all the way to the store to get the materials they need.

Keepin Cozy

Last night I called my good friend, who is also my neighbor, to ask if I could borrow a shovel so that my husband and I could shovel together since we only have one shovel.  She said she could bring it to me and the next thing I know I hear the scraping of shoveling outside.  I hurry out my front door to ask what she is doing, and her and her husband were out there with shovels and salt to help me shovel the 7 inches of snow we got that day!  I was so humbled by their kindness, they helped me at 9:30 at night shovel the whole drive!  I love the kindness and generosity that comes out around this time of year and we should all try to keep that spirit year round.

Christmas may be here and almost over, but Winter is just starting!  Echo Park Keepin Cozy is the perfect line to scrap and make cute projects with for all your winter fun.  And just because Christmas is almost done doesn't mean the gift giving has to stop.  This project would be a perfect thank you to my dear friend for helping me shovel.

Hope you enjoy the ideas and as always be sure to check out Echo Park's Blog for more ideas!

December to Remember

As we draw closer to Christmas Day, I continue to ponder about the season and all of the wonderful things that occur during this time. It's by far my favorite time of the year. There is something magical in the air. It's a time when children still believe in the magic of Christmas and Santa. Friends and family come together to celebrate and reconnect and hopefully enjoy some yummy food!

My boys love laying around the Christmas tree and looking at all the ornaments and lights. They talk to each other about their favorite ornaments and what Santa will be bringing. I love to cook, so this time of year gives me a really good excuse to bake all of the things that are "forbidden" during the rest of the year, then deliver them to all my neighbors. I feel so blessed to be surrounded my loved ones and all of us at All Scrapbook Steals truly feel thankful to share this Holiday season with all of you! We thank you for believing in us and continuing to be our customers and we Wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Tips on Starting a Scrapbooking Club in Your Area

Scrapbooking is a great way to keep mementos in an organized way, whether these tokens be photographs, greeting cards, newspaper clippings, and even ticket stubs. For moms, scrapbooking is a great way to keep track of their kids' growing years: from the time of their birth until college. Imprints of a baby’s palms and soles, photos of a child’s first step, and art works previously exhibited at the fridge are just some of the priceless keepsakes a mom can place in a scrapbook.

Wholesale Scrapbooking Supplies Can Pave Way for Good Opportunities

"Another advantage of going for wholesale supplies is the extensive selections made available, which eliminate the problem of having limited options like what the student encountered. Online companies that offer wholesale scrapbook supplies like AllScrapbookSteals.com give customers a wide-range of choices representing different styles, themes, and categories. Having more choices means more room for creativity which is important to the success of any business. On the other hand, people who simply want to realize gift ideas using scrapbook materials will be able to give to more people not only this Christmas season, but also on other occasions all throughout the year."

Old School? Online Scrapbook Stores in the Digital Scrapbooking Era

"If they happen to buy too many supplies from their favorite online scrapbooking stores, they can always share their extras with fellow scrapbooking enthusiasts. Indeed, the sense of camaraderie that sharing fosters is one thing that digital scrapbooking cannot replicate. Furthermore, while scrapbooks can be expensive projects, the sharing of supplies makes the cost that much more affordable. Aside from this, each scrapbook is a custom-made gift and many feel they are more valuable given the amount of time and effort that went into making them. Other scrapbookers also complain that people spend too much time in front of their computer screens already, and traditional scrapbooking will be a welcome respite for both the eyes and the soul."

Tasty "Tuesday" Peach Pie

It is time for a long over due Tasty Tuesday.  I do realize it is not Tuesday and that most of you probably wont read this until Thursday, but I need to share with you right!?  So this pie always gets rave reviews and is such a nice twist on the traditional Thanksgiving pies.  I recently made it for a church activity and everyone loved it and wanted the recipe.

What you will need:
2 Tbls corn starch
3/4 C. sugar
1/2 C. peach puree (fresh or canned)
1/2 C. water
2 Tbls lemon juice
4 C. peaches, sliced (fresh or canned)
4 oz. cream cheese
1/4 C. powder sugar
1 pie crust (this can be fresh, preformed or the kind
that's rolled out already that you form, anything you want)

Start out with the corn starch and sugar in a small pot and blend in the peach puree, water, and lemon juice.  Bring to a boil and cook until it becomes a darker, thick, jelly like consistency, stirring constantly.  Set aside to cool.

Beat together the powder sugar and cream cheese until well blended.  Spread the cream cheese mixture onto the bottom of a cooled pie crust.  Stir together the cooled puree mixture and peaches and poor into the pie crust.  Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
So Delicious!

So much has been going on in my life since I blogged and I feel so bad for not updating it as often as I should have been.  There were so many fun Halloween and Birthday celebrations for my sweet boy who turned ONE!  He is so big and is such a delight in our lives!  Thank you so much to those of you who stay loyal to the blog and our company, we love having you as part of our little family!  Make sure to check back soon for our November Giveaway!

Visit Online Scrapbook Stores and Fulfill Your Scrapbooking Dreams

“All the milestones, from magical to mortifying, make great stories — at least eventually.” writes Sloane Stephens Cox of Bella Magazine. These milestones may be remembered through old photographs and mementos, but there's no other way to tell a story effectively than through scrapbooks. They require an assortment of art supplies that people don't usually have at home, which compels some scrapbooking enthusiasts to buy supplies from scrapbook stores online. The effort, however, is worth as much as the sense of accomplishment that they feel afterward.

Party Ideas My Minds Eye Chalk Studio

A few weeks ago we got to celebrate my mother in-law's 65 Birthday.  My father in-law decided to have it be a surprise party and asked my husband and I to do the decorations, I knew what to use right away!  I wanted to use My Minds Eye's Chalk Studio because it has a banner already cut out and ready to assemble. It also works that it has pink in it, with it being her favorite color and all.
I put the banner together, made a special place mat just for her, put some fun cut out sayings on the tables, wrapped washi tape around the forks and got balloons and plates to match. I also made her a mini notebook using the same product. Hope you enjoy the ideas!

It was so fun to set up a party for my mother in-law, she is an amazing women and very much deserved to have a day just for her! Love you Kathy!

Wholesale Scrapbooking Supplies: Developing Your Child's Creativity & Self-Esteem

Young children can develop their self-esteem during their formative years by engaging in scrapbooking. Leeza Gibbons made this point in her America Now interview with scrapbooking professionals Sandi Pirrelli and Rebecca Moran. Gibbons, who is herself active in scrapbooking, said that it is important for children to start chronicling their lives early on to help them understand themselves better. If your children show creativity and want to express themselves, scrapbooking can be a healthy way for them to explore their dreams, feelings, and interests. One way to get things going would be to help them make their own scrapbook and source their scrapbooking supplies from wholesale companies like All-Scrapbook-Steals.com. According to Gibbons, “Kids are spending so much time...texting and on their computers and in front of a TV screen that they really don't have time to decompress and dream and grow and be introspective.”

Halloween Decor

Hello everyone!  Sorry I have been so bad about blogging, I promise I will be better.  So as you all know I LOVE Halloween!  I couldn't even wait until October to put my decorations up.  So I thought I would share some pictures with you of the decor in my house to give you some fun crafting decorating ideas of your own.

So all of my decor is a few years old, so I don't remember what the lines are from the product used, but you could use any of the lines we carry now in our Halloween section to make them your own creation.

We have some amazing haunted houses that my very talented sister Shayna made for me along with the bottles and the old books from a thrift store covered in scrapbook paper.  And we used glue dots to get the paper on the bottle to really stick.  I love my Halloween decor and I hope you enjoy it too!

I also included a picture of one of my pictures covered in cob web, because I just love how it ties in you whole house to the Halloween decor.

Also there was a segment on Good Things Utah using some My Minds Eye Happy Haunting product to decorate for Halloween.  Click on the Link here to view it!

Tast Tuesday Taco Soup

Hello Hello Blog followers!  So sorry I have been a little absent lately, honestly I don't have a very good excuse....I got a little too involved in a TV show and couldn't stop watching it.  You guys weren't the only thing neglected, my house work and my husband are also on that list.  But I am back and out o my TV show funk with a delicious new recipe!

One of my favorite go to dinners is Taco Soup.  It is beyond easy and so so good and you usually have most of the ingredients if not all on hand.

What you will need:
1lb ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 packet of taco seasoning
1 can corn
1 can kidney beans
1 can black beans
1 can diced tomatoes with green chile
1 can tomato paste

cheese and sour cream for topping

Brown ground beef and onion in a skillet and add taco seasoning according to directions.  Then add all ingredients to a pot and simmer for about an hour.  Then dish up an enjoy, easy as that!  Love recipes like this and I'm happy to share them with you.

Talk to you again soon!

Two page Layouts

Thank you again to everyone who participated in the the monthly giveaway!  I hope you are not all sick of me going on and on about Halloween, but I really just love it so much.  The colors, the skeletons and witches, the scary stories and movies, and the crisp air, I love it all!  I promise you only have to deal with me and my Halloween craziness for just a bit longer then we will move on to things like Fall, Thanksgiving and of course Christmas.

So I was searching for something to share with you loyal Blog followers and was looking at My Minds Eye's Blog when I came across some wonderful two page layouts.  As I was looking at the talented work of their designers I realized we have not shared a two page layout in a long time and it was about time we did.  Here we have an amazing Halloween layout, I may be biased because it has to do with Halloween, but i do think it is really great nonetheless.  This layout was made using My Minds Eye Happy Haunting.

The details in this are just outstanding, I love the glitter, and I hope you enjoyed the inspiration.  Make sure to check out My Minds Eye's Blog for more two page layout ideas!
