While at a Gem & Mineral Trade Show in February 2006, my hubby and I were leaving Tucson, and I said we need more excitement in our lives. It was a few days away from Valentine's Day, we didn't have our kids with us, and hubby said, I'm gonna take my baby to Disney Land for Valentine's Day! I was so excited, and knew our kids were not going to be happy about this one! When we went through Mickey's house, we came to a section where they let so many people go at a time. We were next to go, walked a short distance, and when the door opened, there was Mickey with arms wide open, and I ran to him yelling Mickey!! I am sure I looked like a little kid running towards him to give him the biggest hug, but it was so awesome! Disney Land and Mickey on Valentine's Day, and with the love of my life, was priceless. We didn't have our kids with us, but we did have our youngest daughter's flat friend from school, and made sure to at least get pictures of flat friend enjoying the trip! Not sure how hubby will ever top this one!

No doubt for disney movie....Cinderella!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Disney memory/experience is the first time that my family went to Disney World. My kids were two and four, and we went with my sisters and their families. It was such a GREAT time. Truly magical the way my kids' faces lit up when they would see the parades and shows and ride the rides. We've been back a couple of times since, and now that my kids are older, they're more about the rides than the characters and the whole experience. I will never forget that first experience!!
ReplyDeleteOur favorite Disney vacation was back in 1996 when we surprised our boys (ages 9 & 6) with tickets for Christmas and we left the next day! It was awesome and the boys were just the right age to enjoy everything!!

I've only been to Disneyland once, but my favorite memory was meeting Sleeping Beauty :) she is my favorite princess!
ReplyDeleteOn his 10th Christmas, I surprised my nephew with a trip to Disney World. after 9 years as an only child, he became a big brother one year prior and his mom was expecting again. He was a great big brother, but I wanted to shower him with love and attention and to give him center stage again and Disney was the perfect place to do that. He loved every minute and so did I. Of course I took lots of pics to photo document our greatest vacation ever. I asked him to "say cheese" so many times, his face was frozen in a permanent smile!
ReplyDeleteand then a year later, I was blessed with the opportunity to chaperone a trip to Disney. I worked at a hospital school for severely disabled kids so travelling to Disney presented lots of challenges. we set out to give our kids the vacation of a lifetime and that's exactly what they had. the cast members at Disney were phenomenal!!! They cheerfully assisted with wheelchair transfers and accommodated every one of our students' needs. I had never seen our students smile and laugh as much as the did that week. For all of us, Disney truly is the happiest place on earth!!! I would love have this Simple Stories Say Cheese Collection to scrapbook the many precious memories of these joy-filled adventures. - Lorim27@aol.com
